Delaware Sales Tax Guide

This tax guide provides a detailed and technical, yet easy-to-read, overview of the state sales tax rules for BOLD Precious Metals in Delaware. Currently, BOLD is not required to collect state sales tax in Delaware and does not have a sales tax license number. However, BOLD continually analyzes tax requirements and the status may change in the future.

"In Delaware, the sales tax rules for precious metals depend on the type of item"

Tax Exempt:

  1. All rare or antique coins, whether previously used as legal tender in the U.S. or other countries, are exempt from sales tax. This includes uncirculated coins and proofs.

  2. Any paper currency previously used as legal tender and now valued for its rarity and condition is exempt.

  3. Investment coins made from refined gold, silver, platinum, or palladium, regardless of minting location, are exempt. This includes coins whose value follows market prices and are IRA-eligible under 26 USCS § 408(m).

  4. Bars, ingots, or forms containing gold or silver with a purity of 99.5% or more, and platinum or palladium with a purity of 99.95% or more, are exempt. This also covers items with at least 90% purity but below certain fineness standards.

As BOLD is not required to collect sales tax in Delaware, customers in the state do not have to worry about taxes being added to their purchases at this time. However, it is important to remember that tax requirements are subject to change, and BOLD will comply with any future changes in state tax regulations.
