In New Hampshire, the sales tax rules for precious metals are as follows:

No Tax:

  1. Rare or antique coins that were initially legal tender in the USA or other nations and whose value is determined by rarity, popularity, condition, and mintage, which incorporates uncirculated coins and proofs.

  2. Paper money that was initially considered legal tender in the USA or another country, with a market value determined by its scarcity, demand, and condition

  3. Coins manufactured in the USA or other nations using pure metals such as gold, silver, platinum, or palladium, the value of which is set by changes in the global price of precious metals. According to 26 USCS  § 408(m), such coins can be stored in an IRA and are often obtained as assets.

  4. Bars, ingots, or other products that include refined gold that is 99.5% pure or refined silver that is 99.9% pure or refined platinum that is 99.95% pure or higher or refined palladium that is 90% pure or greater but below the required fineness criteria.
