As a legal tender offering by Niue, the obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in the center. Inscriptions encircling the Queen's effigy include, "ELIZABETH II . NIUE . TWO DOLLARS . 2021." At the top is displayed the 1 oz weight and 999 fineness. At the bottom are the licensed trademarks, "HARRY POTTER © & TM WBEL (s21)."

The reverse features an ornately engraved crest-shaped coin displaying the house of Slytherin represented by a coiled serpent against the house color of green. An engraved scrolled ribbon at the bottom displays "SLYTHERIN."
