The obverse boldly displays a large, silhouetted image of the State of Texas filling the background. The image is textured to portray the astounding mix of agricultural diversity across the State. Positioned over the very heart of the State's image is the Lone Star, which speaks to the pure independent spirit of Texas. Encircling and partially superimposing the top of the feature image, in large, bold lettering is "TEXAS." Below the image is inscribed the issue date and "Precious Metals."
The reverse features a well-detailed depiction of the Texas State Capitol building. The view is from the Capitol grounds, standing at the sight of the Texas Cowboy Monument. The life-sized monument, sculpted by Constance Whitney Warren, was his representation of the "rough and romantic riders of the range." To the right of the Capitol sways flowering stalks of the State flower, the bluebonnet. Encircling the top are the inscriptions, ".9999 SILVER - ONE TROY OZ,"" punctuated by a small silhouette of the State of Texas.
