BOLD delightfully offers this charming 2024 Tuvalu Dragon Quadrant Silver Proof 4-Coin Set. The Quadrant Dragon set consists of four coins, each measuring one-quarter of a full circle. Each quarter coin is of one ounce. The coins resemble the original Chinese imperial currency when arranged in a circle with a square. About 200 BCE was the first time these "ban Liang" coins were cast during the Qin Dynasty.

As one of the 12 animals that took part in the Emperor's Great Race, organized to ascertain the order of their appearance in the lunar calendar, the dragon holds excellent significance in traditional Chinese culture. The dragon, a kind being believed to govern water and weather, came in fifth place and ruled during each of the five years of the 12-year lunar cycle: 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, and 2024.

The reverse of the top coin features Ao Shun, the Black Dragon, a mountain topped by a pagoda, and repeated depictions of clouds in the artwork. The coin's reverse, oriented rightward, features Ao Guang, a stony waterfall, and a moon bridge that crosses a river's upper reaches.

The reverse design shows Ao Run, the White Dragon, trees, and split lightning on the left side. The reverse of the bottom coin shows the Red Dragon, Ao Qin, splashing in a river where a tributary joins the main channel. The 'P' mintmark from The Perth Mint is on the reverse of every coin.

Each coin's obverse features the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and information about its weight and purity, monetary denomination, and year of issue (2024).
