He is surrounded by lush vegetation, with a somewhat rough, mountainous background sprawling into the distance. Inscriptions include "KOREAN TIGER" encircling the left rim at the mid-point. Also included at the left is "10 oz 2018" stacked, with a fine line separating.
The reverse displays a remarkable design, using characters from the Korean alphabet to form the shape of the Korean Peninsula. The larger letters spell the country's official name. while the overall stylistic effect is very striking! An attractive band encircles the rim, which displays a pattern of the tiger's stripes. The inscriptions within the band include, "REPUBLIC OF KOREA" at the top rim, and "FINE SILVER 999" at the bottom.
To the left of the peninsula design is the unique anti-counterfeiting security feature of a latent image engraving, which very faintly displays, "Ag 999" super-imposed in a small circle. To the right is the national emblem, which is typically displayed on the Republic of Korea's flag. A rugged, textured pattern fills the entire reverse, adding much to the overall effect of the design.
The Korean Tiger series was launched in 2016, offered only in 9999 fine gold. The series received immediate worldwide acclaim for the distinctive design and stunning production quality. The gold series' popularity has continued to increase through the 2017 edition. Now, with the 2018 introduction of the 999 fine silver 1 oz and 10 oz companion editions, the overall series has become firmly established. This is a beautifully produced series and worthy of serious collectors of fine gold and silver bullion offerings.
