The South Pacific island country of Niue has reached way back to 1966 to feature one of the all time coolist cars ever to be displayed on a comic book inspired super hero TV series. Introducing (again) the iconic Batmobile of 1966 fame.
First introduced via DC Comics on the weekly BATMAN TV show in 1966. The show ran for three seasons, from 1966-68, airing a total of 120 episodes. Known as one most campy super hero shows ever conceived. That's especially so regarding the fight scenes between Batman and Robin together facing off against their iconic comic book foes. If you were there to follow the series as it aired each week, you most definitely have fond memories. And that includes the excitement of the introduction of original (functional) Batmobile featured on this remarkable 2021 Niue 1966 Batmobile 1oz Silver Colored Antiqued Coin.
As a legal tender offering of Niue, the obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadly effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions include "ELIZABETH II . NIUE . TWO DOLLARS . 2021." The entire field has been antiqued, matching the reverse.
The reverse is really amazing, as it brings together a colorized image of the 1966 BATMAN™ Classic TV Series logo, a colored headshot of the masked Batman, and features a faithful reproduction of the original Batmobile, perfectly colorized. The background displays the exhaust port from which flames from the burning jet fuel propelled the vehicle. The entire background is antiqued, adding to the nostalgia of the featured design. Inscriptions include, "1966 BATMOBILE . 1 Oz 999 Fine Silver . DC Comics.
