2025 1 oz British James Bond Of The 2000's Silver Coin (BU)

The 2025 1 oz British James Bond of the 2000's Silver Coin marks the fifth release in The Royal Mint's acclaimed Six Decades of 007 Bullion Series, which celebrates the Bond of each decade through a unique silver and gold coin.

This coin honors the transitional phase of the Bond era between Pierce Brosnan's last role as 007 in Die Another Day (2002) and Daniel Craig's explosive debut in Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008), and highlights the turning point of this period. These movies collectively redefined the franchise for the 21st century, marrying together spectacle to psychological depth.

This is an official, authentic Royal Mint product, not a third party product. That licensing is important, because it brings cultural legitimacy and collector demand to the table, which one can't get with generic bullion.

Where It Fits in the Six Decades of 007 Series

The Six Decades of 007 by The Royal Mint is a six-coin bullion series, each of which marks a decade in the life of James Bond films:

Decade Coin Feature Vehicle/Design
1960s Bond of the 1960s Aston Martin DB5
1970s Bond of the 1970s Lotus Esprit
1980s Bond of the 1980s Iceberg
1990s Bond of the 1990s Q-Branch Speedboat
2000s Bond of the 2000's (This Coin) Die Another Day Hovercraft
2010s–2020s Bond of the 2010s–2020s TBD

The 100,000 mintage for each coin is the same, the coins are struck with the same weight and the same purity, and the whole set is a coherent — and limited — collection.

The Reverse Design: Die Another Day's Iconic Hovercraft

The die another day armored hovercraft from the iconic opening sequence (which was set on the North Korean ice flats — one of the most visually striking action openers in Bond history) was designed by The Royal Mint's expert team.

The hovercraft is surrounded by The Royal Mint's iconic gun barrel motif, which unites the entire Six Decades series. Inscriptions read: "BOND OF THE 2000'S" · "1 OZ · FINE SILVER · 999 · 2025" and the unmistakable 007 logo.

The design is worthy of detailed study: The amount of engraving detail on the armoured hull of the hovercraft and the dynamic ice-dust wake that trails behind it demonstrate the quality benchmark The Royal Mint has adhered to for all the coins in this series.

The Obverse: His Majesty King Charles III

On the obverse is the first definitive portrait of His Majesty King Charles III in the sculptor's work of Martin Jennings FRSS, who is also renowned for his statues of Philip Larkin, C.S Lewis and John Keats in Britain.

The inscription on the portrait states: “CHARLES III · D · G · REX · F · D · 2 POUNDS”, which confirms that it is authorized to be a legal tender British coin with the backing of the UK Government. The coin is legal tender, and has a face value of £2, although its silver content and collectible premium, gives the coin a much higher market value.
