This 1986-2022 American Silver Eagle 38-Coin Set NGC MS69 includes the complete set of American Silver Eagles, from the first issue of 1986 to both of the 2021 releases as well as the 2022 release. As previously announced prior to the end of 2020, the United States Mint released an update regarding the production schedule of the brand new 2021 reverse designs of both the gold and silver American Eagle programs. The release of the new 2021 reverse design Eagles was delayed.

This resulted in two different reverse designs being issued with the 2021 date. The first was released with the existing 2020 reverse, bearing the 2021 date. The new designs (identified as 2021 Type 2) were later issued with the new reverse design. Now that both 2021 reverse design coins have been released, this 38-coin set includes both 2021 reverse designs.

The Eagle Arriving

The brand new reverse design continues to feature a bold image of the iconic bald eagle. The stunning new reverse was designed by highly acclaimed artist, Emily Damstra, best known for her work with the Royal Canadian Mint.

The new 2021 1 oz American Silver Eagle BU (Type 2) design depicts an incredibly detailed bald eagle with its powerful wings spread high as it descends with an oak branch in its talons, as though to add the branch to its nest. Although, we have held in highest esteem the original eagle and shield design, moving forward with a more natural-styled image of the eagle was a fine option.
