On February 6, 1952, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary ascended to the throne of England following the death of her father, King George VI. Elizabeth was not initially supposed to ascend to the throne. Her uncle, King Edward VIII, abdicated the throne shortly after his ascension in order to marry heiress Wallis Simpson, an American. With the ascension of King George VI to the throne, Elizabeth became the presumptive heir as the eldest child of George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
The obverse of this stunning .999 Silver Coin proof-like bullion coin displays a right-facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as she looks now and a left-facing portrait of her as a young woman against a background of outwardly radiating lines.
