This 2023 Royal Australian Mint Humpback Whale Silver Coin is the second in the Antarctic Territory series. This coin is 99.99% pure silver and has a face value of $1 AUD and there are only 25,000 (worldwide) limited mintage coins.
The obverse presents the iconic Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of the face of Queen Elizabeth II, and on the reverse is a stunning image of a humpback whale leaping from the frozen waters of the Antarctic, which is both very impressive and very elegant. The humpback whale became a protected species in 1963 and this coin is a tribute to this heritage in fine silver.
We only carry the products that we would consider buying back at BOLD Precious Metals, and the Humpback Whale is a good example of this. As there is only a specific amount of 25,000 pieces in this Antarctic Territory series, the secondary market is also limited by design.
You don't have to be tied up for long: with our buy-back service, you can sell your product when you're ready, at competitive prices, get it paid quickly and it's easy to sell. We believe that is the proper way to sell a coin to a customer—to explain to him how he will get out, before he gets in.
Like all collectible series coins, this one fetches a premium over the silver spot price—it's hardly news. The RAM release is for 25,000 mintages of a premium design with legal tender value backed by the government and with a growing group of collectors who are interested in following the Antarctic Territory series. If you see this coin listed at a lower price by another dealer, we will match their published price, according to our BOLD Pricing Guarantee. We believe that you should know what you're getting before you make a purchase.
The second coin in the Royal Australian Mint's Antarctic Territory series is the Humpback Whale, with the Emperor Penguin being the first. For the full collection, we have both of these available for purchase where available and have established relationships with 10+ mints worldwide that will allow us to continue to take and offer future releases of the series as RAM confirms. We don't create urgency, but a 25,000-coin mintage in a collector market worldwide is a real constraint to know. Decide which coins are currently available and check their availability.
