$65.80One of the basic design approaches of private mints in the United States is the production of silver rounds in historic US coin designs. Many of these designs were extremely popular during their original circulation in the United States, and surviving specimens available decades later are considered valuable collector's items despite any signs of wear from years of driving in circulation.
The Golden State Mint, established in 1974 by Jim Pavlakos and headquartered in Sanford, Florida, produces a variety of silver rounds, including those featuring historic US coin designs that are highly sought after by collectors and available in beautiful designs on fractional silver rounds. It is a precious metals trader and also a Gold IRA company. The company's catalog offers an excellent selection of silver, gold, platinum, and palladium coins, bars, and rounds It is owned and operated by Jim’s son, Andrew Pavlakos. Golden State Mint operates facilities in southern California and central Florida.
The Golden State Mint issues silver rounds in a variety of weights, including variable fractional weights that make it easier for a broader range of investors and collectors to purchase silver. The Golden State Mint offers three popular 20th-century American coin designs. These are:
The buffalo nickel was designed in 1913 by James Earle Fraser for the administration of President William Howard Taft. The nickel was one of the first redesigned American coins in the early 20th century, a movement started by President Taft's predecessor, President Theodore Roosevelt. Fraser was originally from Minnesota and grew up on the plains of the American Midwest. Its design included the portrait of an indigenous tribal leader on the obverse and an American bison on the reverse.
Fraser's obverse design was a compilation of facial features from a variety of different tribal leaders who lived in the early 20th century. The right profile portrait shows a native leader with braided hair and woven feathers down his back. The word "Liberty" is inscribe on the right. The Buffalo Nickel design was in circulation on five cents from 1913 to 1938 and is also currently available on the US Mint's American Gold Buffalo bullion coin.
On the reverse of the Buffalo Silver Rounds, you will find an image of an American bison. This design was also created by Fraser and inspired by Black Diamond, a bison that resided at the Central Park Zoo in New York City.
The Aztec Calendar Round is designed in honor of the Aztec calendar stone. The stone was carved in 1479. It was made of solidified lava and weighed 25 tons. It was buried under the central plaza of Mexico City until it was found in 1790 during construction.
The Silver Shield rounds feature inspiring and unique designs, each offering a distinct sentiment towards controversial issues in human society, both past and present. Initiated in 2016, the Silver Shield collection is constantly growing. Recent issues in this series feature the same reverse design, including a sword standing on its tip with flames wrapped around it. There is a cashback adorned with engravings of the collection name, weight, purity, and silver content of the round, as well as an exterior design element of flames.
